When The Hats All Intersect

For a while, it felt like I was wearing a lot of different hats. But lately, I’ve realized they’re not separate at all.

For years, I've loved welcoming people.

It started with opening the doors to our own vacation rental. I discovered there is something incredibly rewarding about creating a place where people can slow down, reconnect, and make memories they'll carry home with them.

That passion grew into Flown The Coop Stays, where I now help other property owners create exceptional guest experiences while taking the stress of hosting off their shoulders.

Around the same time, I found myself becoming more involved in our community and wearing another hat.

Burton is one of those rare places where history, hospitality, and heart still matter.

Serving as President of Destination Burton has given me the opportunity to work alongside passionate volunteers, local businesses, and community leaders who all believe our little town has something special to offer. Our goal is to preserve what makes Burton authentic while inviting others to experience it.

But over the last year, I kept hearing the same question from visitors:

"What else is there to do while we're here?"

They weren't just looking for a place to sleep.

They wanted to meet local makers. Sip wine with the owners. Learn a new craft. Ride horses through the countryside. Relax at a spa. Explore hidden gems you won't find in a travel brochure.

That's when the missing piece became obvious.

Burton & Beyond was born to connect visitors with authentic experiences throughout our region. It's a place where travelers can discover the people, stories, and adventures that make small-town Texas unforgettable—and where local businesses and creators have a new way to share what they do best.

When I step back, I realize these aren't three separate ventures at all.

They fit together like pieces of a puzzle.

Destination Burton inspires people to visit.

Flown The Coop Stays welcomes them with a place that feels like home.

Burton & Beyond helps them create memories they'll talk about long after they've returned home.

Individually, each serves a purpose.

Together, they tell a much bigger story.

They support local businesses. They create opportunities for entrepreneurs. They encourage travelers to stay longer, explore deeper, and experience the real Texas—not just pass through it.

Every once in a while, you realize the things you've been building weren't separate paths after all.

They were always leading to the same destination.

I'm incredibly grateful for this season of growth, for the people who continue to encourage these dreams, and for the opportunity to help shine a light on this community I love so much.
